DLSS 5 was announced on March 16 at GTC 2026. I believe it is a new real-time rendering model that incorporates photorealistic lighting and materials into games. It is expected to launch by the end of May. This DLSS feature includes super-resolution. It also offers multi-frame generation. This feature uses the game’s specific color palettes and atmospheric conditions. These help facilitate artistic control and enhancements.
Following its release, all GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs will support DLSS 5. It is designed specifically for their Blackwell architecture and fifth-generation Tensor Cores. Initially, it was demonstrated running on the RTX 5090. This RTX model will function on any single RTX series card.

These Blackwell GPUs deliver DLSS 5 power and offer advanced features—such as 6x Multi-Frame Generation—via DLSS 4.5.
NVIDIA DLSS supported cards
NVIDIA DLSS is supported on all GeForce RTX 20, 30, 40, and 50 series graphics cards. DLSS Super Resolution works on all RTX cards. Specific features like frame count are limited to the RTX 40/50 series. Advanced Multi Frame Generation is available only on the RTX 50 series. NVIDIA 3

NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang stated, “25 years ago, NVIDIA invented the programmable shader. We are once again reinventing computer graphics.” DLSS 5 brings a ‘GPT moment’ to graphics. It renders hand-in-hand with generative artificial intelligence. This collaboration ushers in a major transformation in visual reality. Furthermore, it empowers artists with the control they need for their creative expression.”
